About Jody
I am a Brown Belt certified Nia teacher and have been teaching for 7 years.
I had exhausted a variety of group exercises and home tapes when I discovered Nia.
The hour went so fast. I felt my body come alive with energy, sweat and joy while I
also had the sensation of being relaxed and peaceful. I knew from the first class
that I had found what I had been searching for. The Nia technique fills all my needs
for exercise, strength, cardio, stretch, dance, fun, healing and meditation. I am in the
best physical shape I have even been, and Nia is my only conditioning tool.
My passion is dance, and I enjoy Ballroom dancing. I am also a certified
Zumba Gold instructor (for seniors like me and beginners). I am a sports enthusiast
who practiced Bikram yoga for 8 years, studied marital arts, ran and placed in 5k
races and played tennis I assisted my late husband in training, racing and
breeding horses for 20 years. As his caregiver, my Nia practice gave me a place
to release my emotions and rebuild and renew my spirit. Nia empowered me to
begin a new teaching career in my 50's, and I look forward to the future.
I am a dedicated health advocate and love teaching Nia and watching people's
lives change and bodies transform. I bring diversity and enthusiasm from my life
experiences to my classes. I feel we are all students and teachers. My mission is to
inspire everyone to find joy and move - through movement we find health.
Classes are invigorating, inspirational and FUN. Every class we laugh and learn
more about our marvelous bodies.
Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass - it's about learning
to dance in the rain!
